The WhatsApp desktop application now supports audio and video calls. The call is displayed in a separate resizable window on top of other windows so that you don’t lose your video calls among the many open programs.
At the moment, WhatsApp for computers can only call one contact at a time. In the future, the developers plan to add group audio and video calls.
Throughout the last year we’ve seen significant increases in people calling one another on WhatsApp, often for long conversations. With so many people still apart from their loved ones, and adjusting to new ways of working, we want conversations on WhatsApp to feel as close to in-person as possible, regardless of where you are in the world or the tech you’re using.
Finally, about WhatsApp security. Audio and video calls in the app are end-to-end encrypted so neither developers nor third parties can listen or view them.
